See how people find your site and what they do next
Every website we build counts its own visitors from the day it goes live, and tells you about them in plain words: how many people came, how they found you, what they looked at, and how many called, wrote or asked for directions. We keep it simple on purpose, because small businesses deserve to understand their customers as well as the big ones do, without needing an analyst or a course in analytics to get there.
In plain words
Every number comes with a sentence saying what it means, like “4 people tapped to call you”, and a change from last week is told in people rather than a percentage, which can make a small number look alarming.
Nothing to set up
The counting is built into your site and starts the day it goes live, so there's no code to paste, no account to make and no settings to learn.
The steps that matter
It counts the steps that turn a visit into business, like a call, an email, a request for directions or a booking, because that's usually the first thing an owner wants to know.
Your week in your inbox every Monday
Every Monday morning you get a short email about last week from whichever of us looks after your site: how many people came and how that compares with the week before, how they found you, what they looked at most, and how many took a step toward you. If you marked a day, it tells you how that day went too.
It also says whether your site was up the whole week, because we check it every ten minutes, and if it wasn't, the email says when and for how long. When something in it makes you curious, just hit reply and it comes straight to one of us.
Day by day, whenever you'd like to look
Open your Studio any day and see each day's visitors as a bar beside a typical day, with a dot wherever someone took a step. How they found you and what they looked at are right underneath, every week is kept in a table so you can compare one month with another, and Google's own counts show how often your site appeared in a search and what people searched for.
Mark a day with a few words, like the day you posted a sale or spoke at an event, and the page sets the week after it beside the week before, so you can see what it changed. When we put a new version of your site live, that day is waiting for you to mark as well.
Where people came from and what they did next
Visitors are counted by where they came from, in plain names like Google search, Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor or someone who typed your address, and the AI assistants are counted by name too, so when ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude or Gemini sends someone your way, you'll see it. Ask us for a QR code for a flyer, a business card or a sign, and every scan is counted as its own thing.
The steps toward you are counted on every level: a tap to call you, a click to email, a request for directions, a visit on to your booking or ordering page, and a message from your contact form, counted only once it has actually reached your inbox.
Ask your own questions
When you're curious about something the weekly view doesn't answer, you can build the question yourself in your Studio, as a sentence, one tap at a time. Ask how many people came from Google and then called you, how the AI assistants compare with social media, or how many of every 100 people who scanned your flyer went on to your booking page, day by day or month by month, since a day you marked or since launch.
Every menu holds only what your own site has seen, each with its count, so you can't ask about something your site has never had. The answer is drawn as bars, a line or a pie, and a question you keep comes back in your Monday email with the latest answer.
Download your data any time
If you're data curious and our easy-to-use data questions aren't enough, you can download your usage data any time.
Pick two dates and your Studio gives you one spreadsheet file with every day in between: the people, the pages they viewed, where they came from and each step they took, with each week's exact count of people on its Monday. It opens in Excel or Google Sheets, and it's ready to hand to an AI assistant of your own to ask whatever you like.
Private by design
We count people without ever knowing who they are, and the counting works the same way on every site we build.
No cookies
Nothing is stored on your visitors' phones or computers, so there's no cookie pop-up to ask about it.
No addresses kept
The internet address a visit comes from is used for a moment to tell visitors apart and is never kept.
A fresh count every week
A visitor is told apart from the others for one week at a time, so nobody can be followed from one week to the next.
Seen by you and us
Your numbers are shown to you, the people you invite to your Studio, and the two of us, and to nobody else.
When you need more than the simple version
The everyday view is simple because that's what most owners want from it, but there's a lot underneath, and we built every part of it ourselves, from the counter on your site to the questions you can ask it. Analytics is work we know well, so if your business needs more, we can build it for you: a step that matters to you counted on its own, a report for your team, or an answer to a question our menus don't ask yet.
For busier sites, we're also building experiments into Premium, so you can test which version of a page works better, with the results explained in plain words.
Tell us what you'd like to knowA note every quarter
Every quarter, a short note: what your visitors did, and one thing we'd change. One of us reads your numbers and writes it to you, so you hear what they mean without having to go looking.
Your old site's history
If your old site counted its visitors, we can bring that history along, so your record reads as one continuous story from the start.
What each level includes
Every level counts your visitors the same way and keeps the whole record from the day your site goes live, so nothing is lost if you move up later.

That shouldn't be only for big businesses with big analytics budgets. We're building experiments into Premium now, and we'll help you understand the results if you'd like.

Questions about your numbers
Do I need Google Analytics?
No, you don't need Google Analytics, because every site Whirl builds counts its own visitors from the day it goes live, with no cookies and nothing for you to install or learn. Google's own side of it comes from Search Console, which we set up for your site at launch, and Standard and Premium show those counts beside yours: how often your site appeared in a Google search, how many people clicked, and what they searched for.
Can I download my website's data?
Yes, on Standard and Premium you can download your website's data any time, as one spreadsheet file for any two dates you pick, with every day in between: the people, the pages they viewed, where they came from and each step they took. It opens in Excel or Google Sheets, and it's ready to hand to an AI assistant of your own if you'd like to ask it something our questions don't.
Can I see visitors who came from ChatGPT?
Yes, when someone follows a link to your site from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude or Gemini, Whirl counts that assistant by name, beside Google search, Facebook and the rest, so you can see whether people are finding you by asking an AI. They're in your Monday email with every other source, and on Standard and Premium you can ask about all the AI assistants together as one.
Can you build custom analytics for my business?
Yes, Whirl can build analytics around your business when the everyday view isn't enough, like a step that matters to you counted on its own, a report for your team, or an answer to a question our menus don't ask yet. We built every part of our analytics ourselves, from the counter on your site to the questions you can ask it, so tell us what you'd like to know and we'll quote it.
